Introduction / History

Kosraen is the name of both a people and their language. Within their community, they speak the Kosraen language, but English and other languages with outsiders.

Most live on their own island in Micronesia, but some live in Nauru or the United States.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Kosraens love a special soup made with fish, rice, coconut milk, and turkey. They eat boiled breadfruit with it and dip it in the soup.

They carve their own canoes, which they use for fishing. Much of what they get must be imported, which makes things expensive.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Kosraens are Christian with a solid Evangelical minority. They have a complete Bible in their language.

What Are Their Needs?

Job opportunities are limited on small islands. They need entrepreneurs with integrity, vision, and a willingness to expand their economy.

Prayer Points

Pray for the Holy Spirit to do what only he can do: revive and strengthen Kosraen families and churches.
Pray for the Lord to anoint Kosraens to find new ways to earn a living.
Pray for the Lord to bless their families and marriages with abundant love and respect.
