Introduction / History

The Walloons are the second largest people group in Belgium after the Fleming and they live in a region in the south of Belgium called Wallonia. The capital is Namur and they mainly speak French.

What Are Their Lives Like?

Most Walloons live in the cities. Their houses have large kitchens and there is often a place in their homes for a business. Most of them get married in their middle to late twenties. There is an increase in the number of divorces among them.
The Walloons like spicy foods as well as soup, and they drink a lot of coffee. They have made a large contribution to modern art. They like football, racing pigeons, and enjoy gardening. Going to cafes with friends after work is something that the Walloons also enjoy doing.

What Are Their Beliefs?

Those Walloons who are religious are mainly Catholics, and they are an even more secular people than the Flemings. There are divisions in general amongst the Walloon and the Fleming.

What Are Their Needs?

Walloons have access to the gospel, the Bible, and churches. They need the spiritual hunger it takes to seek and find the King of kings.

Prayer Points

Pray that the Walloon will find secularism empty and turn to Jesus Christ.
Pray for a spiritual hunger that will drive Walloons to the cross.
Pray that soon they will send workers to tell Muslims and Buddhists about the only Savior.
