Kokola is the name of a tribe that is defined by their language. They live in Mozambique and Malawi.
The Kokola of Mozambique are mainly an agricultural people.
Many of the Kokola in Mozambique heard the gospel when they were refugees in Malawi during the war in Mozambique (1980s). There are churches in the area. Most churches are served by itinerating pastors who may visit the church once every few months.
They have a Christian majority which is largely Roman Catholic. There is also a strong Evangelical movement among them.
Kokola pastors need to be trained. The churches use either the Malawian Chichewa Bible or the Portuguese Bible.
Pray for the Holy Spirit to bring about a Christ-centered revival in Kokola churches and families.
Pray for them to experience a record high yield as proof of God’s power and goodness.
Pray there will soon come a day when Kokola workers will take the name of Christ to gospel starved parts of Africa.
